The forward has enjoyed a standout campaign for the Canaries, and is their top scorer with 17 Championship goals as we approach the end of the season.

The Spaniard’s contract runs until the summer of 2026, leading to questions over his long-term future at Carrow Road.

According to journalist Alan Nixon, second tier rivals Sheffield United are one of the clubs eyeing a potential move for the winger ahead of the upcoming transfer window, with Nixon revealing that the Blades are willing to pay over £10m for the 24-year-old.

"The fee you'd be looking at" - Lee Hendrie makes Borja Sainz, Norwich City transfer prediction

Speaking exclusively with Football League World, we asked Sky Sports pundit and former player, Hendrie: 'In your eyes, what is the minimum price Norwich City should accept for Borja Sainz if clubs make bids this summer?'

“I know Sainz has had a really good season at Norwich,” Hendrie said.

“Obviously, even being suspended for a number of games, he’s still the top scorer in the Championship (correct as of AM 12 April), which people are looking at and thinking who are the best players.

“We see that an awful lot in the Championship, because it’s such a good league. The fee that you’d be looking at is usually around £25-30million that they’ll probably try and get if he is to leave the football club.

"It will be an investment, as well as what they’ve paid for him, and that’s the thing, it’s making the right choice for him and the football club. So, I’d have said about £25-30 million.”

Sainz joined Norwich in the summer of 2023, and has become an integral part of Johannes Hoff Thorup’s side this season amid their push for a play-off place.

Norwich would be happy with £30million for Borja Sainz

Given Sainz is entering the final 12 months of his current contract, a deal worth £30million would be very good value.

Even something around the £25million mark would be great business for Norwich City, even if it would be bittersweet to lose such a talented player.

The Spaniard has been exceptional this year, suspension aside, and has every chance of ending the campaign as the division’s top scorer - a feat that would be made even more impressive given the fact he's a winger.

The £25-30million earned from a potential sale could be put straight back into the side too, and allow Norwich to strengthen across Thorup’s squad in the summer.

As such, there is the potential for Norwich to even come out better for a Sainz sale if they were to reinvest the money wisely, in what looks set to be a crucial summer of recruitment at Carrow Road in order to position them for a much stronger Premier League promotion push next season.
