According to Bucks Free Press, the League One side are looking to bolster their options this month following recent injury issues.

Michael Duff’s side are aiming to compete for a play-off place, with their sights set on promotion to the Championship.

Injuries to Ewan Henderson and George Abbott have caused some concern for the Chairboys, who could now look to the market as a response.

Morley has made 17 appearances in the third tier so far this season, starting on only seven occasions, struggling for consistent minutes under Steven Schumacher since his summer return to the club.

Wycombe could be in the market for a move to bring Morley back to the club this January following these injury issues.

It’s believed that the League One club are looking to strengthen their options, with their other midfield players set to be absent until at least February.

The 25-year-old spent the first half of last season on loan at Wycombe, where he earned a strong reputation among supporters.

The midfielder made 19 appearances in League One, with the team sitting top of the table when he was recalled.

He contributed two goals and four assists, with Bolton opting to exercise their opportunity to bring him back from a promotion rival.

Duff’s side are currently 10th in the League One table after 25 games played, with the team six points adrift of the play-off places.

The 47-year-old was appointed in September, and he has so far overseen 11 wins from 24 games, with the Chairboys eyeing a return to the second tier for the first time since 2021.

Next up for Wycombe is a trip to face Northampton Town on 17 January in a 3pm kick-off.

Aaron Morley return to Wycombe would be good business

Morley performed well for Wycombe last season, and showed he his usefulness to the club despite his inconsistent minutes at Bolton.

Given their current injury issues, it would make sense to set their sights on bringing him back, especially as he was popular with the fans.

If Morley can replicate his form for Wycombe from last season, then it could prove a very smart piece of business.

But it will also depend on whether Bolton would be willing to sanction the move again, especially given the manner of his return last January when the Chairboys proved a strong promotion rival.
