Chelsea’s interest in a new attacker this summer is well established, with players like Noni Madueke being linked with moves away from the club and Mykhailo Mudryk’s future very uncertain.
Given that, and given the Blues’ desire to accumulate all of the best young talent around, especially home grown talent, it’s no surprise to see their name being mentioned in the mix for Southampton starlet Tyler Dibling.
CaughtOffside today have an exclusive which says we’re in the mix, along with Manchester United, to try and sign the 19 year old now that the Saints have bene relegated. Dibling has been the one bright spark from a dire season for them, and would apparently be available for €40m.

Famously, a few years ago Dibling came to Chelsea’s academy, but couldn’t settle and soon moved back to the South Coast.
All indications are now that he’s grown up and ready to try again. He already showed his class in the Championship in their promotion season, and now he’s started his Premier League career with so much promise it’s obvious he won’t be keen to drop down a level again.
Southampton are obviously keen to get him to sign a new contract, but that feels unlikely. That guarantees a reasonable price for any potential buyer, and at €40m we can see there being a long list of suitors.
Given his previous struggles at Chelsea, maybe he will be put off. He may also want to choose a team where he is guaranteed more minutes right off the bat, as he won’t want to go back to being a bench player having made his Premier League breakthrough.
Either way, we very much expect him as a target this summer.
