This comes from Bavaria, where we are treated to a rematch of the 2020 Champions League final between Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain.

Neither side have hit the expected heights yet in the competition, heightening the need for a positive result for both as we enter the second half of fixtures.

Bayern have won twice and lost twice so far, putting them just outside the seeded spots for the knockout stage of the competition, which is considerably better than Luis Enrique's men.

The Spaniard is feeling the heat with just one win (an extremely fortunate one at that) so far in the competition and they are currently occupying the elimination places in the bottom quarter.

PSG need a win. Can they get it and exact a small measure of revenge for the 'Covid final' in the process?

If PSG's need for points is important then for Leipzig it is now essential.

Although the Bundesliga outfit have had a tough run in their first four games by taking on Atlético de Madrid, Juventus, Liverpool and Celtic, few would have predicted them to be sitting on zero points at the halfway point of the new league phase.

Most frustratingly for the struggling German side, who have been a staple of this competition's knockout stages in recent years, they have led in three of their four fixtures so far and still been beaten.

The pressure is increasing on Marco Rose, who has just two wins from his last seven games in all competitions, and the tasks don't come much easier here as they travel to Italian champions Inter.

Barcelona may be missing Lamine Yamal through injury for their clash with Brest this week but with Raphinha in the form he is in, they won't be too worried.

Injuries have also resulted in him being entrusted with the honour of the club captaincy and he has thrived with the extra responsibility, particularly in Europe.

In 2024, he has 11 direct goal involvements in the Champions League (eight goals, three assists) and if he scores or assists against Brest, he'll equal the record for the most involvements in a single year for a Brazilian: currently shared by Neymar (twice), Rivaldo and Giovane Élber.

👀 Potential upset

Is it even really an upset if Manchester City lose anymore? After all, they've done it in the last five straight games.

However, in all seriousness they remain big favourites for their home clash with Feyenoord, even if they are very much a wounded animal at the moment.

There is very little about the Dutch side's history against English opposition or their recent defensive displays in this competition to give them reason to be hopeful but with City looking a shadow of their usual selves, it is as close to a free hit as Feyenoord could ask for.

Atlético de Madrid duo Antoine Griezmann and Koke are both sitting on 99 Champions League appearances ahead of their trip to Sparta Prague.

If both feature, it will be the first time in tournament history two team-mates have hit the milestone in the same game.
