The nominations for the 2024/25 Premier League fan team of the season have been announced, with six Newcastle United stars amongst those nominated.

I can’t disagree with any of the United players put forward, although I think it is a shocker that Lewis Hall hasn’t been included in the 60 player ‘shortlist’…

The half dozen NUFC players who have been nominated, are Dan Burn, Bruno Guimaraes, Sandro Tonali, Anthony Gordon, Jacob Murphy and Alexander Isak.

Newcastle United official announcement – 20 May 2025:

‘Six Newcastle United players have been nominated for the 2024/25 Premier League Fan Team of the Season.

Dan Burn, Bruno Guimarães, Sandro Tonali, Anthony Gordon, Jacob Murphy and Alexander Isak all feature on the 60-man shortlist, with the players who receive the most votes from the public in their respective positions going into the official 2024/25 Premier League Fan Team of the Season, which will be limited to a maximum of four players per club.

Burn is one of ten centre-backs to be nominated, which includes Arsenal duo William Saliba and Gabriel, Liverpool pair Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konaté, Marc Guéhi of Crystal Palace, Everton’s James Tarkowski, Dean Huijsen of AFC Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest’s Murillo and Nikola Milenković.

Guimarães and Tonali feature in the ten-man shortlist of central midfielders, with Liverpool trio Alexis Mac Allister, Ryan Gravenberch and Dominik Szoboszlai also nominated as well as Moisés Caicedo of Chelsea, Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes, Morgan Gibbs-White of Nottingham Forest, Arsenal’s Declan Rice and Morgan Rogers of Aston Villa.

Murphy and Gordon feature in the forwards’ shortlist, nominated alongside Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, Bukayo Saka of Arsenal, Chelsea’s Cole Palmer, Anthony Elanga of Nottingham Forest, West Ham United’s Jarrod Bowen, Bryan Mbuemo of Brentford, Kaoru Mitoma of Brighton & Hove Albion and AFC Bournemouth’s Justin Kluivert.

Isak is one of ten strikers to be nominated, which includes Manchester City’s Erling Haaland, Chris Wood of Nottingham Forest, Wolverhampton Wanderers duo Matheus Cunha and Jørgen Strand Larsen, Liam Delap of Ipswich Town, Crystal Palace’s Jean-Philippe Mateta, Ollie Watkins of Aston Villa, Brentford’s Yoane Wissa and Danny Welbeck of Brighton & Hove Albion.
