Abel Ferreira forward Flaco López ‘to be considered’ by Benfica | OneFootball

Benfica are weighing a move for Palmeiras striker Flaco López, who has impressed under Abel Ferreira, according to El Crack Deportivo.

River Plate are also in the frame, with their coach pushing for his signing, though negotiations with Palmeiras are not expected to be straightforward.

The São Paulo club are considered more inclined to sell to Europe, given stronger finances there, which brings Benfica into the equation, but Bologna and Atlético Madrid, who are seeking a partner for Julián Álvarez, are also monitoring the forward.

A price of around 40 million euros has been suggested, a figure thought to be beyond Benfica’s current plans.

The Argentine, currently involved with the national team, has featured in a recent friendly, and interest in him follows Benfica’s deal this season for Richard Ríos from Palmeiras for about 27 million euros, a club-record signing.
