Chelsea will entertain Ajax at Stamford Bridge this Wednesday night as they look to secure a victory at home in the UEFA Champions League. The Blues managed to secure an impressive 3-0 win away at Nottingham Forest recently, so they would be full of confidence ahead of this game.

Enzo Maresca will set his players up in a 4-2-3-1 formation once again and is expected to make some changes to his first XI for this clash. Tosin Adarabioyo, Wesley Fofana and Tyrqiue George could all play from the start of this game.

Defence

Robert Sanchez will play in goal for the Blues after he kept a clean sheet in his last appearance. Tosin Adarabioyo will function alongside Wesley Fofana at the centre of the Chelsea backline as they look to keep a solid defensive shape inside their half.

Reece James will be named as the right-back, while Marc Cucurella hopes to give a good account of himself on the other side as the left-back. Both of them will try to go forward and join in on the attack at every chance they get.

Jorrel Hato will provide cover for the defensive positions on the bench.

Midfield

Moises Caicedo and Malo Gusto will anchor the midfield for the London side as they look to establish their superiority over the opposition at the centre of the park.

The talented trio of Pedro Neto, Facundo Buonanotte and Estevao will operate just ahead of them as part of Maresca’s attack. Neto and Estevao would both look to put their pace to good use out in the wide areas.

Romeo Lavia, Andrey Santos and Alejandro Garnacho will have to be content with a spot on the bench as they await for their chance to make an impact in the second 45 minutes if required.

Attack

Tyrique George will spearhead Chelsea’s attack in the final third. He would be eager to get his name on the scoresheet against Ajax this Wednesday night.

Joao Pedro is suspended for this game. However, Marc Guiu will be available for selection on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the final quarter if the Blues are in need of a goal by then.
