Senegal will make their debut in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations by taking on Botswana in the opening matchday of Group D.
Pape Thiaw's men, crowned champions in 2021, are among the hot favorites to lift the trophy, boasting a lineup packed with stars from Europe's elite clubs such as Ibrahim Mbaye (PSG), Iliman Ndiaye (Everton), Ismaila Sarr (Crystal Palace), as well as experienced veterans now plying their trade in Saudi Arabia like Edouard Mendy (Al-Ahli Saudi), Sadio Mané (Al-Nassr), and Kalidou Koulibaly (Al-Hilal).
On the other side, Botswana will be looking to play spoilers and, who knows, maybe pull off a major upset by reaching the round of 16.
The Lions of Teranga and the Zebras will face off on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at 15:00 GMT.
The match will be broadcast on beIN Sports, the official broadcaster of the tournament, whether on beIN SPORTS 1 in France or on beIN Sports Mena MAX 1, 2, and 3. New World TV, Canal+ CAN, and Canal+ Afrique's 100% CAN channel will also provide live coverage of the competition. The host nation's channel, Arryadia, is also an official broadcaster.
