Afonso Moreira, Malick Fofana and Pavel Sulc back in Lyon squad to face Celta Vigo

Paulo Fonseca will have Afonso Moreira, Malick Fofana and Pavel Sulc back in Lyon’s squad to face Celta Vigo in the Europa League last-16 second leg on Thursday at 18:45 at Groupama Stadium.

According to L'Équipe, Fonseca said the trio have returned from injury and will be in the matchday group. He added they are not ready for 90 minutes but are fit to help and could come on if needed.

The Portuguese coach appeared more relaxed at Wednesday’s media briefing. Lyon are on a run of six games without a win in all competitions and have been short of attacking options in recent weeks.

Their availability offers a significant boost to Lyon’s forward line ahead of a pivotal night. Fonseca views having all three available as important for the team.

Lyon must beat the Spanish side to reach the quarter-finals, where the winners of Freiburg-Genk await.
