After car accident: Bayern star Olise mourns Joshua coach | OneFootball

The tragic car accident involving boxing superstar Anthony Joshua has caused worldwide consternation – and has now also left its mark on FC Bayern. Bayern professional Michael Olise mourns the loss of a person who accompanied him both athletically and personally

On Monday, Anthony Joshua was involved in a serious traffic accident in Nigeria, in which two members of the multiple boxing world champion’s entourage lost their lives: athletics coach Sina Ghami and Kevin „Latif“ Ayodele. The news not only shook the boxing world, but also numerous athletes from other disciplines

One of them is Michael Olise. The 24-year-old reacted publicly to the death of his former fitness trainer on Monday evening. In an Instagram story, the Bayern star shared a photo with Sina Ghami, taken in the London gym „Evolve Gym South Ruislip“. Olise wrote: „Rest in peace, my brother. One of the most honest men.“

The picture shows Olise and Ghami from earlier training times together. The T-shirt that Ghami is wearing is striking: it bears the words „AJBXNG“ – a reference to Anthony Joshua’s initials and his personal brand, which stands for sportswear, accessories and training equipment, among other things

Olise and Ghami already worked together in 2021

Olise and Ghami have worked together for a long time. The original post, which Olise has now shared again, dates back to July 2021. At the time, Ghami had publicly congratulated the attacking player on his move from Reading FC to Crystal Palace. The post at the time featured pictures of Olise in a Palace shirt and with his then coach Patrick Vieira, as well as training sessions together

Sina Ghami has been part of Anthony Joshua’s close circle for years. Most recently, he stood in the ring corner of the British boxing star during the highly publicized fight against Jake Paul on 19 December in Miami. His first Instagram post from 2017 already showed him at Joshua’s side – shortly before the legendary Wembley fight against Wladimir Klitschko

According to sources close to the team, Ghami had only rejoined the Joshua delegation in Nigeria on Monday morning. Shortly after landing, he shared a photo from the airport in Abuja. The Dubai-based sports rehabilitation and athletics expert also worked alongside Joshua with other professional athletes, including NFL player Jerel Worthy of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
