Leon Goretzka’s departure from FC Bayern is imminent. While the midfielder is looking ahead to the DFB Cup final with Bayern and then to the 2026 World Cup, intensive talks about his future are already underway in the background – and they are apparently leading more and more clearly to AC Milan
It has been clear for months that Goretzka will leave the record champions in the summer, and several top European clubs, including Atlético Madrid and AC Milan, had already expressed their interest in the winter
The interest from Italy in particular remains enormous, with Juventus Turin, Inter Milan and SSC Napoli apparently also keeping a close eye on the German international
However, the Rossoneri are said to have the biggest lead, with one decisive factor being that Milan are the only club to offer Goretzka a long-term three-year contract, according to consistent reports

The Gazzetta dello Sport reports that talks have intensified significantly in recent days. According to the report, Goretzka and Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri recently held a personal telephone conversation, which is said to have focused on the midfielder’s sporting role
According to the report, Goretzka was extremely impressed by the Italians‘ plans and has already signaled his willingness to join the project internally
Internally, the Rossoneri are apparently making firm plans for the Bayern star, with Milan seeing Goretzka as a physically strong box-to-box player who can take on several roles in midfield and, with his experience, should immediately take on leadership responsibilities
In addition to the sporting prospects, the Italians are apparently also tempting with an attractive overall package consisting of salary, bonus payments and a high signing-on bonus
According to the report, the negotiations have not yet been completely finalized, with minor differences remaining, particularly in the financial details
However, both sides are said to be „on a very good path“, meaning that the final decision could be made soon
Goretzka himself recently announced that he wanted to clarify his future as soon as possible
A period between the DFB Cup final and the start of the World Cup is currently considered realistic.
