After rejecting River, Maher Carrizo emerges as a Boca target | OneFootball

Maher Carrizo has come onto Boca’s radar after turning down River’s offer. According to LaNumer12.com.ar, the Vélez Sarsfield forward is now being assessed as a potential addition up front.

In the past few hours, the 19-year-old personally rejected a move to River, despite concrete interest from the side coached by Marcelo Gallardo. What had seemed a clear path to River has shifted.

Carrizo could leave Vélez in this window. Marcelo Delgado has the striker on his shortlist and is expected to call Vélez’s board in Liniers to ask for terms.

Any deal would be complicated and costly. Carrizo has a 16 million dollars release clause, a steep figure for the domestic market. It remains to be seen whether Vélez would accept a lower fee for a percentage of his registration or insist on the clause.
