There are still so many changing parts to this Liverpool transfer window.

Andoni Iraola has been installed as head coach - replacing Arne Slot - but right now the squad is in flux.

Deals are being sought for a new winger in order to replace Mohamed Salah - and we could also see incomings at right-back, centre-back and central midfield.

Ifeanyi Ndukwe needs to leave

The future of several Reds players is also up in the air - with Curtis Jones, Harvey Elliott and Stefan Bajcetic named among those who could still leave.

Iraola and sporting director Richard Hughes will also have decisions to make over loan players. Top-quality youngsters like Trey Nyoni and Lewis Koumas could be made available for loan once the preseason tour of the United States concludes.

And in the case of one promising talent the decision has already been taken out of Liverpool’s hands.

Ndukwe's work permit problems

Owing to a work-permit hiccup Ifeanyi Ndukwe will be LEAVING Liverpool mere weeks after joining. The 18-year-old does not qualify for a permit as Liverpool do not meet the criteria for an extra spot next season.

And that means the man signed from Austria Vienna for around £2.5m will need to go on loan.

“The fact is that in the 2025/26 Premier League season, clubs had two exception spots where they didn't have to reach this points target,” agent Georg Lederer told ORF according to Sky Sport Austria.

“In the new season, this extra rule will be reduced by one spot.”

He added he was confident he could find a club: “where Ifeanyi can gain playing experience at a very high level.”

Ndukwe could return to Austria Vienna

There is now the possibility of the Austrian underage international returning to his hometown club according to another report in ORF.

“One possible destination is his parent club, Austria Vienna,” the report reads.

Ndukwe came onto Liverpool’s radar following the U17 FIFA World Cup last year and hopes are high that he can reach the top level.
