Like father, like son: Maximilian Ibrahimovic – son of the legendary Zlatan Ibrahimovic – has been announced as Ajax's new signing.

The young forward, just 19 years old, will compete in the second half of the season for the Dutch emblem, on loan from AC Milan. The deal includes an option to buy, should the Amsterdam team wish to retain the Swede's services at the end of the loan period.

"We are very pleased with Maximilian's arrival," Marijn Beuker, the club's director said about the signing.

"He is a talented forward, with good positioning inside and around the box, and he has precise and purposeful finishing. He is a player with great potential and we hope that, in time, he will become a permanent part of Ajax's attack,"

It is worth remembering that Ajax was the first club Zlatan represented after leaving Swedish side Malmö. Now, Maximilian is set to follow in his father's footsteps.

Maximilian Ibrahimovic's younger brother Vincent Ibrahimovic remains at the Italian club.
