Just when everything seemed almost finalized, N'Golo Kanté saw his move to Fenerbahçe collapse at the last minute. The Turkish club has offered an explanation.

Despite an agreement between Al-Ittihad and Fenerbahçe worth €5 million, the Frenchman will not be heading to Turkey. The Saudi side is at fault, accused of an "incorrect entry of information" when registering the transfer with FIFA, according to the Turkish club.

"The transfer process for N'Golo Kanté and Youssef En-Nesyri with Al-Ittihad was meticulously handled by our club in every respect, as planned. However, due to incorrect TMS information entry by the opposing club, the transactions could not be finalized within the allotted timeframe, regardless of our club's actions. As a result, an extension was requested, discussions were held with FIFA, and all necessary steps were taken to resolve the issue. Despite this, the opposing club failed to finalize the transactions without providing any justification. Due to these events, the transfer process unfortunately could not be completed," Fenerbahçe lamented.
