Al-Nassr have entered the decisive stretch of the Saudi Roshen League, leading on 73 points after a crucial 2-0 win over Al-Akhdoud on Saturday in Matchday 28, five clear of Al-Hilal. With the run-in upon them, there is no margin for error.
According to Goal.com, Jorge Jesus' side are navigating a heated atmosphere and a tricky patch, yet they still boast the league’s best attack with 78 goals and the second-sturdiest defence after conceding only 21.
Six games remain. Al-Ittifaq visit next Wednesday in Matchday 29, then Al-Ahli on 28 April for Matchday 30. Al-Nassr go to Al-Qadisiyah on 2 May, host Al-Hilal in the Riyadh derby the following week, then face Al-Shabab on 13 May before finishing at Damac on 21 May.
The first half of the campaign brought a damaging dip, four matches without a win. They drew 2-2 with Al-Ittifaq and lost 2-3 to Al-Ahli, followed by defeats to Al-Qadisiyah 1-2 and Al-Hilal 1-3.
Al-Nassr now face six decisive fixtures, including the four in which they previously slipped. Should those results recur, they could hand the title to Al-Hilal or Al-Ahli. As a result, Jesus is left with a daunting challenge, he must win the title with two rounds to spare and do it at Al-Hilal’s expense in the derby.
