Alajbegovic ‘back on’ Milan radar as Atalanta stall, Karetsas ‘likely to join’ Dortmund | OneFootball

Milan could revisit Kerim Alajbegovic after Atalanta’s pursuit stalled and Borussia Dortmund stepped up for Konstantino Karetsas.

Calciomercato and Radio Bruno claim Bayer Leverkusen’s €30m plus bonus valuation has slowed progress. Sky Sports Deutschland reports Karetsas is increasingly likely to join Dortmund, adding their opening €30m bid was rejected.

Atalanta had appeared close last week to landing the Bosnia and Herzegovina winger from Leverkusen, following his outstanding stint at RB Salzburg.

That pause could reopen the race for Alajbegovic, with Milan and Fiorentina among the clubs monitoring the situation.

Milan viewed Alajbegovic as an alternative to their priority target, Genk and Greece international talent Karetsas.

Any Milan move is tempered by the need to first find a buyer for Rafael Leao, and there are currently few proposals he would consider.
