The Lions have had some tough luck with injuries so far this season, losing Billy Mitchell, Femi Azeez, Casper De Norre, Alfie Doguhty and Langstaff to various injuries already in 2025/26.

However, Southwark News have reported that Neil may be able to see one of those return to the side this weekend, alongside Zak Lovelace, who has yet to feature since he returned to The Den in February after resigning from Rangers.

Both Millwall and Charlton will want to be as full-strength as possible ahead of a fiery South London derby, the first since July 2020.

And, given the Lions currently have a 12-game unbeaten run against the Addicks to protect, Alex Neil will be relieved to see a couple of his injured stars ready to return to action on Saturday.

According to Southwark News, Millwall manager Alex Neil has revealed that striker duo Zak Lovelace and Macaulay Langstaff are back in training ahead of this Saturday's South London derby against Charlton.

After a slow start to life at The Den, Langstaff began this season in fine form, scoring the winner in Millwall's 2-1 win over Norwich City on opening day. However, he hasn't featured in the Lions' last two league games due to a hip injury.

Lovelace, who rejoined Millwall from Rangers in February, has had his second debut delayed due to the knee surgery he underwent soon after he made the switch back to South London.

It'll come as a relief for Alex Neil, who is currently without eight first-team players. The returns of Langstaff and Lovelace will give him some much-needed selection headaches ahead of this weekend.

"We've got a few sessions between now and the weekend, but those lads [Langstaff and Lovelace] are back in training just now," Neil said.

"They're making good progress, and we'll see how the others are come the end of the week."

Neil however refused to comment further on the status of the other players who are currently on the road to recovery.

Millwall's recent record against Charlton is impressive to say the least, and they'll be eager to continue that at The Valley on Saturday.

The Lions are currently on a 12-game unbeaten run in the South London derby, and the last time that Charlton beat Millwall was in 1996.

The two sides haven't met since 2020 due to the Addicks' time in League One, so anticipation is high ahead of this weekend.

Both sides will want to be as full-strength as possible, and whilst Neil was happy to disclose that both Langstaff and Lovelace are back in training, he and the Millwall fans will be hopeful for at least one more important player to be back in contention for selection before Saturday.
