As reported by The Athletic, Alexander Isak (25) has completed his first training session as a Liverpool player, raising anticipation that the club’s record signing could make his debut in Sunday’s Premier League clash with Burnley.

The 25-year-old striker sealed a £125m move from Newcastle United on deadline day after forcing through a controversial move from Newcastle. The striker immediately linked up with the Sweden squad for World Cup qualifiers. After limited involvement internationally, including substitute minutes in a defeat to Kosovo, Isak has now returned to Merseyside to begin life under Arne Slot.

His first day at Liverpool’s training ground included gym work alongside Joe Gomez and Federico Chiesa, with Liverpool’s media team capturing the moment he was officially integrated into the squad. With the champions facing six games in 17 days, Slot will be eager to accelerate Isak’s readiness, though his fitness will be closely monitored given his lack of pre-season minutes at Newcastle.

The striker’s arrival comes at a time when Liverpool’s international contingent is still filtering back. Senior figures, including Mohamed Salah, Alisson Becker, and Dominik Szoboszlai, are expected to rejoin training later in the week, leaving Isak among the first wave of players available for Slot’s preparations.

Whether he features from the outset or off the bench at Turf Moor, Sunday could mark the beginning of a significant new chapter in both Isak’s career and Liverpool’s title defence.
