Aliou Dieng has arrived at Manises Airport and completed his move to Valencia, becoming their fourth addition of the summer. The Mali midfielder joins as a free agent after leaving Al Ahly. He has signed a two-season contract to June 2028.
According to AS, lost luggage delayed his appearance at the terminal, though he spoke of his excitement at joining. At 28, he will reinforce Corberán’s midfield and compete for a starting spot with Guido Rodríguez or Pepelu.
He said the aim is to return to the Champions League or the Europa League and that they will fight for it this year. He called the move a great honour and added he has spoken with Corberán, who expects a lot, and he hopes to give his best.
Born in Bamako on 16/10/1997, the Mali international arrives from Al Ahly, one of the most decorated clubs in African football. He moved to Cairo in 2019.
Since then he has played 250 official matches, winning three league titles, two cups and four Egyptian Super Cups, plus two CAF Super Cups and four CAF Champions Leagues.
He is also captain and a leading figure for Mali, featuring at the most recent Africa Cup of Nations. His profile blends power, work rate and ball recovery, providing range and progression in midfield.
