According to Superdeporte, Valencia have closed a deal to sign 28-year-old Mali midfielder Aliou Dieng for 2026-27, making him their second addition after Justin de Haas.

Talks with the Al Ahly midfielder were revived in recent hours and the agreement was finalised.

Dieng was strongly linked in early 2026, and the club hierarchy had indicated that another deal was close for the summer.

A pre-agreement with the player was later shelved for various reasons, but Valencia have reactivated the operation to add power in midfield. Dieng again emerged as the preferred option and is set to arrive in July.

The Malian profiles as a holding midfielder, raising the question of whether he would compete with Guido Rodríguez, whose future remains unresolved. The Argentine is under contract only until the end of the season and can choose his next step in June.

Corberán rates Rodríguez and the club would like to extend his deal, although nothing has been advanced yet.
