FC Bayern continues to scout for the top talents in world soccer. Ayyoub Bouaddi appears to be a particular focus, as he is already one of Europe’s most sought-after midfielders despite his young age.
At the 2026 World Cup, many eyes will be on the established superstars. But major tournaments also regularly give rise to new stories about young players who suddenly step into the spotlight. One such candidate is Ayyoub Bouaddi.
At just 18 years old, the OSC Lille midfielder is one of the youngest participants in the tournament and is already considered one of the greatest talents of his generation. He could play a key role for Morocco at the World Cup—and finally establish himself on the world stage.
The youngster already made his mark in the opening match against Brazil (1-1).
As reported by several media outlets, FC Bayern is also closely monitoring this exceptional talent.
That comes as no surprise. Bouaddi combines many qualities that are particularly in demand on the modern transfer market: technical class, tactical intelligence, game awareness, and remarkable maturity.
Above all, the pace of his development is causing a stir.
Despite his young age, the midfielder has already made 96 competitive appearances for Lille. A figure that is rare even among exceptional talents.
Particularly noteworthy is the assessment of many scouts and youth coaches. “No one is surprised by his rise. He’s a young man in whom no flaws have been found,” a former youth coach said of Bouaddi.
In fact, the Moroccan is considered an exceptionally well-rounded player. He shows almost no technical weaknesses, plays far beyond his years tactically, and is already holding his own physically at a high level.
That is precisely why numerous top clubs have been closely monitoring his development for months.

Off the field, too, Bouaddi stands out from many of his peers. The 18-year-old won a public speaking competition at the age of 15, graduated from high school a year early with top grades, and is now studying mathematics—while pursuing his career as a professional soccer player.
This combination of athletic and academic development has drawn admiration across Europe.
However, FC Bayern is far from alone. Arsenal, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, and Manchester United have already been linked with the midfielder. A potential transfer is likely to be correspondingly difficult.
Lille, in particular, is in a comfortable position.
LOSC President Olivier Létang recently made it clear that a sale is not currently planned. “50 million? No, that’s not enough,” the club president stated, underscoring the player’s immense value.
Instead, Lille hopes to keep Bouaddi for at least one more season. Only in the event of an exceptional offer would the French club even be open to talks.
For FC Bayern, this means: Should the interest actually materialize, they would not only have to outbid numerous top European clubs but would likely also have to invest a record transfer fee for a teenager.
Currently, Munich’s focus is on the transfers of Nathaniel Brown and Ismael Saibari. Nevertheless, the interest in Bouaddi shows that Bayern is already thinking far beyond the current transfer window when it comes to long-term squad planning.
The World Cup could now become the next big stage for the 18-year-old. And every strong performance is likely to further increase the number of interested parties—and his market value.
