Palmeiras are set to be boosted by Allan’s return from a two-match STJD ban for Wednesday’s trip to Vitória at Barradão, 21.30 Brasília time, in the 21st round of the Campeonato Brasileiro. He offers Abel Ferreira another option on the right.

According to Nosso Palestra, Aston Villa recently made an enquiry and signalled a possible offer of €25 million fixed plus €5 million in bonuses, but the board rejected it and view Allan as integral to the sporting project at this stage.

Since competition resumed, Ferreira has reshaped the attack. Khellven and Giay have frequently worked the right, providing width and depth, while Felipe Anderson also featured against Atlético-MG.

With Allan back, the coach gains a different profile. A midfielder by trade, he has often operated wide on the right, using pace, ball carrying and close combinations. His versatility could see the number 40 used there from the start or off the bench.

His availability widens options at a key point in the season. Beyond creativity, he brings intensity in the press and mobility to attack space, attributes valued by Ferreira.
