Almería moved into second with a 3-0 victory over Cultural Leonesa on Monday, pushing CD Castellón down to third with 13 games left in Liga Hypermotion.
According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, Racing lead on 56 points, four clear of Almería and seven ahead of CD Castellón, who have 49 after back-to-back defeats.
The win featured goals from Arribas and Thalys. Deportivo are level with CD Castellón and also lost this round against Granada.
Las Palmas sit fifth on 48 after two emphatic victories. Málaga complete the play-off places on 48, having dropped two home points to Valladolid due to a stoppage-time goal.
CD Castellón hold a three-point cushion over seventh. Burgos are seventh on 46, with Ceuta eighth on 44 and Sporting ninth on 42.
Eibar and Córdoba have 41, seven off Málaga, and remain within range in a division where a run can quickly change positions.
With the final quarter ahead, the battle for direct promotion and play-off berths looks set to be frantic until the end.
