Alphonso Davies’ agent finally addresses Real Madrid talks – ‘It’s an honour to negotiate with them’ | OneFootball

Alphonso Davies’ agent, Nedal Huoseh, recently discussed the ongoing talks with Real Madrid during the renewal process between the player and Bayern Munich.

Speaking to Saudi media outlet Winwin (h/t AS), Huoseh revealed that discussions were held with several clubs, including Real Madrid.

“There were always talks with several clubs and, of course, Real Madrid was one of them.

“But in the end, there was no signed agreement or commitment with any club, as we left the door open for the player to evaluate all the options for himself,” he began saying.

Huoseh explained that while Real Madrid were a serious contender, as were other top clubs, the decision ultimately came down to staying at Bayern Munich.

“Real Madrid was indeed a serious option and we had discussions with them, just as we did with other clubs. But in the end, a decision had to be made and that was to stay at Bayern Munich.”

He made it clear that the admiration for Real Madrid is mutual, highlighting the club’s long and successful history.

He said that it is always an honour for any player to receive an offer from a prestigious club like Real Madrid, just as it is for Bayern Munich or other clubs in the Premier League.

“Of course, with all due respect to Real Madrid, which is a huge club, one of the most successful in history.

“It is always an honour for any player to receive an offer from a club like that, just as it is with Bayern Munich or other Premier League clubs.”

However, the final decision was driven by a number of factors, with one of the main challenges being uncertainty surrounding Bayern Munich’s future at the time.

“But ultimately we had to make a decision and at first it was difficult because we weren’t sure what would happen with Bayern Munich and the player was aware of that. So, he kept himself open to all options on the table.”

The agent also addressed the latest contact between Real Madrid and Davies. In January, talks took place with four European clubs, including the Spanish giants.

“We spoke to them in January, along with three other European clubs, and Real Madrid was definitely one of them.

Despite Real Madrid’s interest, Huoseh took the opportunity to discuss a broader perspective on a footballer’s career.

He pointed out that players often have many options throughout their careers, but staying with a top club for a long period can be beneficial.

“I also want to clarify something: when it comes to a footballer’s career, there are many options. But staying at a big club for a long time is not a bad thing. Sometimes, constantly changing clubs can be detrimental to a player’s career,” he said.

Ultimately, Davies’ decision to remain with Bayern Munich was a result of carefully weighing all options and finding the best fit for his future, both professionally and personally.
