Corinthians midfielder André has been suspended by the STJD and will miss two Brasileirão matches.

According to Globo.com, the decision was handed down on Thursday following his dismissal last Sunday at Neo Química Arena.

He was shown a red card at the end of the first half for a heavy challenge on Vasco’s Thiago Mendes. The 19-year-old was cited under article 254 of the CBJD for violent play.

As a result, he will sit out against Mirassol on Sunday and São Paulo on 10, both in the league.

Also on Thursday, Corinthians were fined R$ 10,000 for delays in ballboys returning the ball and R$ 3,000 for entering the pitch three minutes late.

The club was cleared over an alleged provocation to Vasco on the arena screens after the message “Itaquera virou baile”. A case involving a supporter who spat at the match officials also brought no punishment.
