Same opponents, same result. Three days after the 3-1 victory in Vienna, our lads secured another three points at home against Austria Vienna to get back on track in the ADMIRAL Bundesliga title race. Yorbe Vertessen and Jannik Schuster scored our goals in the first half, while the visitors gifted us an own goal late in the game.
Riding the momentum from Sunday's 3-1 away win against Austria Vienna, we hosted them again just three days later, this time at the Red Bull Arena. In the battle for the top spot in the ADMIRAL Bundesliga, only one thing mattered - winning.

The opening phase belonged to the visitors, while we deliberately started cautiously. There were few major attacking opportunities for either side before the momentum shifted in our favour after a few minutes. In the 16th minute, Vertessen struck as our lads didn't let the ball get away from them around the Austria penalty area, and the Belgian calmly slotted home his seventh goal of the season. Just a short time later, we could celebrate again! Jannik Schuster headed in his first goal for us to make it 2-0 after Austria goalkeeper Sahin-Radlinger missed the ball from a Kjaergaard corner. We kept up the pressure, but the tide turned in the 34th minute. Helm's team executed a quick counter-attack almost perfectly, while our marking was too loose. Ranftl then expertly slotted the ball home in a one-on-one with Schlager. Our 2-1 lead at the break felt far too narrow given the run of play.

After the break, it was full throttle again: Kjaergaard (48') and Alajbegovic (49') immediately tested the opposition with good shots, while Schlager made a fine save from a Viennese header (50'). The crossbar denied us a third goal in the 52nd minute when Kjaergaard, after a Konate rebound, hit the woodwork from close range. The game remained fast-paced and open, and a disallowed Kjaergaard goal due to a handball by Vertessen in the build-up caused further tension (74'). Austria Vienna ultimately got the goal we were looking for as Sahin-Radlinger inadvertently turned a backpass from Plavotic into his own net (76'), making it 3-1. Krätzig had a go in the 78th minute, unleashing a powerful shot that struck the top corner of the goal frame bouncing just in front of the goal line.

We were closer to making it 4-1 than our opponents were to scoring a consolation goal, and in the end, our Red Bulls secured a well-deserved and important home victory to beat Austria Vienna for the second time in four days. Three big points in the title race are in the bag. Our next match follows this Sunday – away against Rapid!
It's not a given in a league this tight, and it's a good sign to have picked up six points within just a few days. There were periods when we were on top and shorter ones when Austria were. All in all, we were the deserved winners over the 90 minutes! It's clear that these results are good for us. However, we shouldn't make the mistake of becoming complacent – we need to continue in exactly this way on Sunday!

Ever since Sladdi [Junuzovic] arrived, he's told me before every game, "today's the day." It happened today, which is fantastic! We played really well for long stretches, but then got a bit nervous after one or two situations. Our third goal sealed the result, and we deserved to win!
