Newcastle United winger Anthony Gordon (25) is reportedly considering his future and is keen to explore his options this summer, with interest building from some of Europe’s biggest clubs, according to Sky Sports.
The England international has emerged as a leading target for Bayern Munich, while Arsenal are also monitoring his situation as they assess attacking reinforcements ahead of next season. Gordon remains under contract at St James’ Park for a further four years, but there is said to be a growing sense within Newcastle that the 25-year-old could follow Alexander Isak in seeking a move away, after the striker’s departure to Liverpool last summer.
The report suggests Gordon is eager to resolve his future early, with the World Cup approaching and a desire to secure stability ahead of an important year for his international ambitions. While Newcastle have not been informed directly that Gordon intends to leave, they are understood to be preparing for significant bids to arrive early in the transfer window.
Newcastle are expected to resist any approach unless their valuation is met, with the club believed to be seeking more than £80m to even consider a sale. Gordon has been one of their standout performers this season, scoring 17 goals and providing five assists in 46 appearances.
If Gordon does push for an exit, it would represent another major test of Newcastle’s ability to retain elite talent as they attempt to remain among the Premier League’s leading clubs.
