The Blades are set to lose two important players as free agents this summer if nothing changes.
Sheffield United will be hoping to enter the summer as a Premier League club once again, but for some Blades stars, their Bramall Lane futures may not extend beyond the conclusion of the 2024/25 season.
Chris Wilder's side have been one of the standout teams in the Championship this season, having all but wrapped up a play-off spot at worst by the end of February.
However, they won't want to enter the lottery of the play-offs. Instead, United will want to punch their top flight ticket by securing an automatic promotion place.
So, as the Blades enter the business end of the campaign, there are one or two who won't be playing any further part in the club's future should nothing change between now and the end of the season when it comes to their contracts.
Football League World takes a look at the Sheffield United players who rival clubs may already be eyeing up a free agent swoop for in the summer.
Ever since joining the club back in January 2020 from Nottingham Forest, centre-back Jack Robinson has become a real fan favourite among the Bramall Lane faithful.
The 31-year-old is Sheffield United's club captain this season, and it isn't difficult to see why. He's a tough, physical, no-nonsense defender who is seldom seen losing his individual battles with opposing strikers.
Robinson is a real leader in the heart of Wilder's defence, and has been his solid and reliable 7/10 every week-self throughout the season so far.
The Englishman signed a two-year contract extension in the summer of 2023, but with no new deal inked since then, he's now heading into the final weeks of his Sheffield United career.
Having proven himself as a top defender at Championship level, there will be some questions asked over whether he would be capable of making the step-up to Premier League level once again next season should the Blades get there.
He played 34 times in the top flight last season, in a campaign where United shipped 104 league goals and finished bottom of the table. That, of course, wasn't all down to Robinson, but a poor season in that division last time out, compounded by the fact that he will be 32 just weeks after the 2025/26 season begins, will elicit a certain amount of uncertainty over his viability as a starting option.
Should the Blades miss out on promotion, however, then he's definitely shown that he's still a quality player at Championship level, and thus the club's hierarchy would surely be willing to hand him fresh terms for another campaign in the second tier.
It's fair to say that Rhian Brewster's £23.5m move from Liverpool to Sheffield United in October 2020 hasn't gone to plan.
The 24-year-old has endured a torrid time with injuries during his stay at Bramall Lane so far, much to the frustration of everyone connected with the football club.
A former England youth international, Brewster showed so much potential during the early stages of his career, and was regarded by many as one of England's most promising up-and-coming strikers of the future upon his big-money move to the Blades.
However, on top of being sparingly available for selection over the years due to the aforementioned injury woes, when Brewster has been on the pitch, goals have been hard to come by in a United shirt.
He has, however, enjoyed somewhat of a resurgence this season, having largely been able to stay fit and contribute to a handful of goals in the process.
But he does look like a player who is in desperate need of a fresh start elsewhere in the summer with his contract set to expire at the end of the season, and with the Blades paying a handsome fee for Tom Cannon in the winter window, his starting opportunities appear highly limited moving forward.
Tyrese Campbell and Kieffer Moore offer two further experienced and proven competition, whilst Ben Brereton Diaz could make Bramall Lane his long-term home in the summer too.
Young Scotland youth international Ryan One is also very highly-rated at the club, and keeping Brewster around could risk stumping his natural progression into the first-team picture.
However, Wilder has confirmed that Sheffield United have opened discussions with Brewster over a new deal, and so he may not be heading for the free agent market after all.
