Manchester United are reportedly interested in Club Brugge midfielder Ardon Jashari.

The Swiss midfielder has emerged as one of Europe’s most complete and modern players, showcasing his ability both domestically in Belgium and on the European stage in the Champions League.

Aston Villa eventually ended Brugge’s run, but Jashari’s performances earned widespread plaudits along the way.

According to Transfermarkt, the 22-year-old’s value has soared from €8 million to €25 million in just a few months, a figure that could yet rise further with Brugge reportedly setting a price tag closer to €30-35 million.

His showings against Serie A opposition, notably Atalanta and Juventus, underlined his quality and left scouts from Italy’s top clubs seriously impressed.

AC Milan, Roma and Juventus are currently tracking the midfielder, while Napoli, Lazio and Bologna have all previously been linked.

Bologna, in fact, came closest to sealing a deal just 18 months ago.

At the time, Jashari was available for just €6 million – a fee Brugge ultimately paid to secure his services. That now looks like a bargain.

Adding to the competition, Premier League clubs including United are understood to be monitoring the situation ahead of the summer transfer window.

Jashari’s profile fits the blueprint of the modern box-to-box midfielder. Technically gifted, tactically aware and capable of influencing both ends of the pitch, he has proven capable of performing on the biggest stage.

He could be Ruben Amorim’s ideal replacement for Casemiro at United.

There is still time to act, of course, but for clubs such as Roma or Milan, who could use fresh energy in midfield, Jashari’s name will be high on the shortlist – albeit now at a premium.
