Areso left out of Athletic squad to face Villarreal | OneFootball

Areso, signed last summer from Osasuna for 12 million, has been omitted from Athletic’s squad to face Villarreal tomorrow, as reported by as.com.

The right-back is one of three to miss out after the Getafe setback, alongside Egiluz and Sannadi. Prados is the only injury absentee.

Valverde has recalled Gorosabel and Paredes, both now over fitness issues. Gorosabel returns after sitting out the Coliseum trip with a left hip problem. Paredes is fit again following a heavy contusion to his left calf in the Copa del Rey semi-final second leg against Real Sociedad, which ruled him out for four matches.

The 23 named are Simón, Vivian, Yeray, Laporte, Yuri, Ruiz de Galarreta, Jauregizar, Iñaki Williams, Sancet, Nico Williams, Guruzeta and Padilla.

Also included are Gorosabel, Paredes, Vesga, Berenguer, Lekue, Adama, Unai Gómez, Nico Serrano, Navarro, Izeta and Rego.
