Argentina set up Kansas City base for 2026 World Cup as squad assembles

Argentina’s main delegation has arrived in Kansas City and checked into the Origin Hotel Kansas City, which will serve as their base throughout the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Mexico and Canada.
According to SuperDepor.com, a charter from Ezeiza carried coaching, medical and support staff, officials, part of the 26-player squad and further call-ups for friendlies against Honduras and Iceland.
The players already on United States soil are Gerónimo Rulli, Nicolás Tagliafico, Valentín Barco, Nicolás Paz, Julián Álvarez, Enzo Fernández, Nicolás González, Gonzalo Montiel, Leonardo Balerdi, Giovani Lo Celso, Nicolás Otamendi, Nahuel Molina, Cristian Romero, José Manuel López, Leandro Paredes, Giuliano Simeone, Exequiel Palacios and Thiago Almada.
Also in the group are Santiago Beltrán, Agustín Giay and Nico Capaldo, among those involved for the friendlies. The team will depart from Kansas City for all matches, including friendlies in Texas and Alabama, then return to prepare at a training centre about 20 kilometres away.
The first session with the 26 selected by Scaloni is scheduled for Monday. On Sunday, captain Lionel Messi and Rodrigo De Paul are expected to arrive from Miami.
Argentina will remain in Kansas City until Thursday, then travel to Texas to face Honduras on Saturday 6 June at Kyle Field.
