Arsenal booked their place in the quarter-final of the FA Cup with a 2-1 victory over Mansfield Town at the One Call Stadium on Saturday.
The visitors were presented with the first chance of the game in the fourth minute after Liam Roberts hit his pass straight to Max Dowman, but the opening came to nothing.
Riccardo Calafiori failed to deal with a long ball forward, and Tyler Roberts latched onto it before trying to chip Kepa Arrizabalaga from outside the area, but he had it covered.
The hosts could’ve gone ahead after Rhys Oates skipped past Cristhian Mosquera to find Louis Reed at the edge of the area, but Arrizabalaga was equal to it.
Oates had two chances to break the deadlock, but he failed to hit the target.
Leandro Trossard found Dowmwan, but his first-time strike flew straight at Roberts.
Noni Madueke broke the deadlock for Arsenal in the 41st minute after Roberts saved his initial curling effort, before Gabriel Martinelli laid it back to him to score at the second attempt.
Madueke could’ve added a second after he was played in behind by Christian Norgaard, but he skewed his effort wide.
Will Evans drew the Stags level after the break, latching onto a loose pass from Marli Salmon before drilling a left-footed shot beyond Arrizabalaga.
Reed could’ve fired the hosts ahead, but his shot flew straight at the goalkeeper.
Eberechi Eze restored Arsenal’s lead with a right-footed shot in the 66th minute.
Bukayo Saka could’ve increased the margin after he was played through on goal by Madueke, but Roberts denied him.
Arsenal easily navigated the closing stages to progress to the quarter-finals.
