Sarina Wiegman has named 25 players for the Lionesses’ two friendlies this month, with 19-year-old Reid and former Liverpool full back Hinds joining Aston Villa’s Lucia Kendall as the debutantes in the squad.

Laura Blindkilde Brown and Missy Bo Kearns return to the squad, along with 20 players who featured in the winning Euro 2025 squad over the summer. Lauren Hemp, Leah Williamson and Lauren James remain absent through injury.

England play Brazil on Saturday, 25th October, and then Australia on Tuesday, 28th October.

Sarina Wiegman: This is the start of a new cycle

In quotes released to the media, Sarina Wiegman said: “It’s great to be back and we’re really looking forward to playing in front of our fantastic home support again after such an incredible summer in Switzerland. We felt the energy from the stands throughout the tournament and we’re grateful to have our fans with us again in October and November.

“In Brazil and Australia we’ll be facing two top opponents who will each test us in different ways, which is exactly the kind of challenge we need as we prepare for World Cup qualification starting early next year.

“It’s lovely to celebrate success but this is also the start of a new cycle with new opportunities and objectives. I cannot wait to get everyone together and started next week.”

It is the first England squad announced since Chelsea’s Millie Bright confirmed her international retirement. Bright captained the side to the final of the 2023 Women’s World Cup in the absence of Williamson.
