Gabriel Jesus is being linked with a loan exit from Arsenal ahead of the imminent arrival of Viktor Gyokeres.
Arsenal are set to finalise the signing of the Sporting CP forward in the coming days, with terms agreed for the Sweden international.
The impending arrival of Gyokeres has cast the future of Jesus in doubt. The Brazilian is currently recovering from an ACL injury but that has not prevented interest in his services.
RTI ESporte are reporting that Flamengo are interested in bringing the forward back to Brazil. A loan move has been mooted, in which the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A side would pay 50% of the 28-year-old’s salary.
Flamengo are keen to make their third high-profile signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Jorginho from Arsenal and ex-Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez.
Filipe Luis’s side are hopeful the lure of regular first-team football can persuade Jesus to turn down European offers in favour of Brazil. He has started just 23 league games over the last two seasons due to injuries and the presence of Kai Havertz.
Jesus won the last of his 64 caps for Brazil in November 2023 and an exit could improve his chances of making the squad for next summer’s World Cup.
