Gunners ready for ‘beautiful moment’ at the Bernabeu

Thomas Partey says Arsenal’s trip to Real Madrid is a “beautiful moment” in their season and vowed they would go there to win.

Arsenal are now looking to finish the job on Wednesday and reach the semi-finals for the first time in 16 years.

Partey, who has experienced the Bernabeu before from his time at Atletico Madrid, is relishing the challenge and has urged his team-mates to be bold in their approach.

“I think it’s going to be one of the biggest games, with the situation and the mentality and the lead we have,” the Arsenal midfielder said. “I think we have to be confident, we have to go there and play our game and try to win.

"I think it’s a beautiful moment and a moment that every player wants to be part of. I’m really happy to be part of it and I’m really happy to be in the team, and also to help the team.

“It’s very difficult, it’s not going to be easy. We know how good they are and the quality they have from back to front. So, as I said, we have to be confident and play our game and try to win.

“I think every stadium is intimidating when you are not at your best. But we have to go there with confidence and, as I said, stay in our game. We know what we have to do and we are going to get prepared and then try to win.

“I don’t think it’s tricky. As I said, if we are confident with our game, we play our game. We’ve been playing the whole season and I think it’s not going to be something different. We just have to be confident to get the ball from them and then keep the ball and try to attack them.

“We are going there and we have to try our best and win. We know it’s not going to be easy. They have some of the best players in the world but we just have to try and win.”
