Arsenal forward Gabriel Jesus says he would like to stay at the club beyond the end of his contract.
Jesus recently returned from a serious knee injury, scoring in the 4-1 win over Aston Villa in December.
His current deal runs out at the end of next season, but says his main focus now is on staying fit after a tough time with injuries.
“I think my first target is to be healthy,” he said. “This is my fourth season at Arsenal and unfortunately I played maybe one-and-a-half or two, then the rest with injuries.
“That’s never happened with me before but it happened here, I don’t know why, I don’t ask myself anymore.
“I just try to be fit. My first target is to be healthy from now until the end of the season and then like I said before, my wish is to stay at Arsenal and then I have a contract.
“If you ask me like you did, I want to extend my contract, I want to stay, I want to win trophies with Arsenal because I came here with that purpose and that’s it.
“But obviously the reality is different sometimes. Sometimes it’s to go another way but my focus is staying healthy and winning trophies with Arsenal.”
