Arsenal table official bid for Leicester City star Jeremy Monga | OneFootball

Arsenal have sent an official opening bid to Leicester City to sign English attacker Jeremy Monga, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.

The highly-rated 16-year-old is viewed as one for the future, but he has what it takes to become a key member of the Arsenal first-team.

Max Dowman is the same age as Monga and is a regular name in the Gunners’ matchday squad when fit and available for selection.

Arsenal agreed personal terms with the teenage sensation earlier this month. He has given full preference to them over other clubs.

The Gunners sporting director Andrea Berta has already met with his representatives, relaying a pathway to senior football at the club similar to Dowman.

Monga featured in 30 games for the Foxes last season, starting ten times and weighing in with one goal and two assists in the Championship.

He played seven times off the bench in the Premier League for them in 2024-25 and will fancy his chances of forcing his way into manager Mikel Arteta’s plans.

Leicester are expected to sell players this summer following relegation to League One, but Monga will not cost much as he has yet to sign a professional contract.

He was expected to pen his first professional contract with Leicester after he turns 17 next month, and it is unclear if that is still on the cards.
