Cristhian Mosquera could return to the Arsenal defence after recovering quicker than expected from an ankle injury, though left-back Riccardo Calafiori and centre-back Piero Hincapie are still out.
With Arsenal top of the standings and with a huge game at home to Manchester United on Sunday, Arteta could well rest the likes of Declan Rice, Jurrien Timber, Bukayo Saka and one or two others.
Bukayo Saka has allayed fears he may miss Arsenal’s crunch Champions League tussle at the San Siro after returning to training.
The England ace came off the bench during Saturday’s disappointing 0-0 draw at Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.
Mikel Arteta revealed “a few niggles” had prompted him to put his superstar winger on the bench at the City Ground, but he looked sharp when he came on.
The Spaniard was then coy about Saka being involved at the San Siro but he was pictured in training on Monday which suggests he will be involved against the Serie A giants.
Inter are sixth in the standings, six points behind Arsenal, but have thrown a flying start away, losing their last two ties, 2-1 at Atletico Madrid and 1-0 at home to Liverpool.
Arsenal just need a point to secure their place in the round-of-16 which would give Arteta the opportunity to rest his entire first team for what would be a dead rubber at home to Kairat next week in their final league-phase encounter.
