Arsenal ‘to demand’ €18 million for Fábio Vieira as HSV negotiate | OneFootball

HSV may need to offer €18 million to sign Fábio Vieira, with Arsenal placing that valuation, Sky Sports reports.

The Bundesliga club have stepped up talks with the Premier League champions, although the sides remain apart on the midfielder’s price.

Vieira, 26, is entering the final year of his contract, which could persuade Arsenal to soften their stance later in the window. The playmaker is also keen to return after spending last season on loan at HSV.

Bild claims that Arsenal are ready to lower their demands, yet that valuation would still be a major obstacle given HSV’s current bid is below €10 million.

Board member Erick Huwer said the deal could require breaking the club’s transfer record, set in 2016 when Filip Kostic arrived from VfB Stuttgart for €14 million.

“We fell in love with Fábio a little bit last year, but we are not going to be unreasonable. If Arsenal say yes, we look forward to him. If they say no, we look forward to someone else.” said Huwer.
