Arsenal have been a very busy club in the transfer window over the past few weeks as they look to build a Premier League-winning squad for next season.
The arrivals of Martin Zubimendi and Christian Norgaard will reshape the midfield, while Kepa Arrizabalaga is as good a backup goalkeeper as any side has.
Noni Madueke’s signing has been all but announced, adding depth to Mikel Arteta’s attack, but there are not done improving in the final third.
Meanwhile, there are also a few players who could leave before the window closes and the signing of a promising young forward.
Arsenal are inching ever closer to completing a deal for Viktor Gyokeres after agreeing a transfer fee with Sporting CP.
The striker is set to leave for a fixed fee of £55m, but are “still finalising” the details, according to Sky Sports News. The two clubs are negotiating the conditions around the bonus payments, which will be £8.5m.
Gyokeres could join the Gunners for at least part of their pre-season tour of Asia, with the club flying out this weekend.
Ahead of his anticipated move to north London, Noni Madueke has said goodbye to the Chelsea supporters, confirming he will be leaving Stamford Bridge to join Arsenal. It suggests an announcement is imminent.
The winger posted on Instagram: “Dear Chelsea Football Club, I want to thank you for the Last 3 or so years. To every staff member that helped me along this journey, thank you. To my teammates thank you for everything, I leave with only love and admiration for you guys. We achieved so much this season and I honestly wish you guys nothing but the best.
“To Enzo Maresca, it was a privilege to play under you, thank you for trying to better me as a player and as a person. Lastly thank you to every single Chelsea fan. Thank you for the love, the praise and also the criticism, I appreciate it all. I leave here with nothing but fond memories. Love, NM11.”
Arsenal and Fulham are in “ongoing talks” over a deal for Reiss Nelson, Sky Sports News report.
They are engaged in talks over a possible loan move, but Arsenal apparently want to add a “permanent element” to any deal as the winger has entered the final two years of his current contract.
Nelson spent last season on loan at Craven Cottage, but a hamstring injury ended his campaign prematurely.
Arsenal have “agreed a deal” to sign Will Wright from Salford City, according to The Athletic. The 17-year-old forward will join the Gunners for a transfer fee of £200,000.
Wright broke into the Salford first team last season after impressing for the youth sides and B team. He made his senior debut against Manchester City in the FA Cup in January and went on to make two appearances in League One.
Arsenal “would consider suitable offers” for Oleksandr Zinchenko, Fabio Vieira and Albert Sambi-Lokonga, Sky Sports News claim.
Zinchenko, who only has one year left on his contract, has fallen out of favour with Arteta, starting just five times in the Premier League last season. Sambi-Lokonga is also in the final 12 months of his deal, while Vieira has 24 months remaining.
