Madueke has returned to Arsenal for further tests, but initial signs are positive
Arsenal winger Noni Madueke is facing a matter of days out with the knee injury he suffered on international duty with England.
Madueke started the draw against Uruguay last Friday, but was forced off in the first half after being clattered while attempting a shot at goal.
Although he attempted to run off the issue, it became clear that he could not continue and looked incredibly frustrated as he walked past England boss Thomas Tuchel upon being replaced by Jarrod Bowen.
Concerns among Arsenal supporters and Mikel Arteta were then raised when the 24-year-old left Wembley Stadium with a brace on his left knee, having been videoed limping through the mixed zone.
However, scans have since showed that Madueke - who returned to Arsenal to be fully assessed - has escaped a serious injury with Tuchel revealing the prognosis is “slightly better than his feeling”.
Speaking on Monday ahead of England’s friendly against Japan, Tuchel said: “The assessment, with the picture, was slightly better than his feeling. He will be out for some days.”

While the Gunners appear to have avoided the worst-case scenario with regards to Madueke’s injury, he remains a doubt for this weekend’s FA Cup quarter-final clash against Southampton.
Arsenal then take on Sporting CP in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals on April 7 and the winger may face a race against the clock to prove his fitness for the trip to Lisbon.
If Madueke is out of action for days rather than weeks then he should miss a maximum of two Arsenal games.
Arsenal’s next Premier League fixture is a week on Saturday when they host a Bournemouth side that has not lost in the league since the reverse meeting between the two teams at the start of January.
Should all go to plan, Madueke is expected to be available for that game at the Emirates Stadium, provided he does not return to action earlier.
