Max Dowman has signed scholarship terms with Arsenal.

The 15-year-old made his first-team debut for Arsenal in August, coming off the bench against Leeds to become the second youngest player in Premier League history.

Dowman has been training with the first-team squad since he was 14 and has now signed scholarship terms with Arsenal. His scholarship will officially begin next season.

He will be able to sign a professional contract with the Gunners when he turns 17 on December 31 next year.

Dowman is regarded as one of the best prospects in England and would have had his pick of clubs to sign scholarship terms with.

Arsenal tying him down is a major boost for the club, who view the midfielder as a big part of their future.

“I think there is a kid with a level of maturity, stability and hunger that is very difficult to see,” said Mikel Arteta in August.

“There is a kid here that has zero hesitation. He’s so convinced that he can go at 15 and deliver that, which I have never witnessed in my life.

“And for us, it brings joy, it brings emotion and something else that makes our jobs so great.”

Dowman has made three first-team appearances for Arsenal so far this season, and has scored twice in two Premier League 2 appearances. He is yet to make his full first-team debut.

He was also named to the club’s Champions League squad for this campaign, but is yet to appear. He would likely become the competition’s youngest-ever player should he play in the league phase this season.
