Mikel Arteta facing big selection call for trip to west London
Viktor Gyokeres is pushing to return to the Arsenal side for their trip to Brentford on Thursday.
The striker scored twice off the bench against Sunderland at the weekend and could be rewarded by getting the nod at the Gtech Community Stadium.
Bukayo Saka is set to be unavailable again as he continues to manage a hip injury, but it remains uncertain whether Martin Odegaard will be available.
The Arsenal captain has missed wins over Chelsea and Sunderland with a minor muscle issue, and Mikel Arteta will provide an update on the latest on the injury at a press conference on Wednesday.
If Odegaard is ruled out, Havertz is likely to keep his place in midfield, having impressed since his return to the side.
The likes of Declan Rice and Martin Zubimendi will need to be rested at some point, but Arsenal host Wigan in the FA Cup this weekend, and so changes are expected to happen then rather than against Brentford.
If there is rotation in defence, Piero Hincapie could come in for Riccardo Calafiori, who struggled on Saturday in what was his first Premier League start since December.
In attack, Leandro Trossard was forced off late against Sunderland, and no further information has yet been provided on that.
Arteta could opt to be cautious and start Gabriel Martinelli, who impressed off the bench in that match, in his place.
Predicted Arsenal XI (4-2-3-1): Raya; Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Hincapie; Zubimendi, Rice; Madueke, Havertz, Martinelli; Gyokeres

Doubts: Odegaard, Trossard
