This season marks 100 years of football in the Principality, and to commemorate the occasion, AS Monaco have unveiled a new jersey.
ASM and Kappa introduced the commemorative kit inspired by the first ones worn when they became a club in 1924. It’s a black tunic with the same white polo collar that players wore in the early existence of this club a century ago.
Another distinctive feature of the jersey is the crest on the chest, an embroidered replica of the one worn during Monaco’s early seasons.
The kit was presented through a video clip on the club’s X (formerly Twitter) handle, featuring current team members, along with legendary former goalkeeper Jean-Luc Ettori (69), the most-capped player in their history.
On Saturday, Les Rouges et Blancs will dawn the new kits when they welcome Montpellier HSC to Stade Louis II. Monaco are unbeaten in Ligue 1 this season, currently in a three-way tie with Paris Saint-Germain and Marseille for first on 13 points.
