Aston Villa have been fined and handed a suspended ban on selling tickets for a European away match after supporters displayed a discriminatory banner during the Europa League final, UEFA confirmed.
Unai Emery's side beat Freiburg 3-0 in the Istanbul showpiece to lift their second European trophy, with Youri Tielemans, Emi Buendia and Morgan Rogers scoring.
The punishment followed a decision by UEFA's control, ethics and disciplinary body on Wednesday, after the club were charged with racist and/or discriminatory behaviour linked to the banner.
Villa were fined £8,625 and the ticket-sale ban is suspended for the next two seasons. It can be activated if the club commit a similar offence during that period.
The banner is believed to have referred to the travelling community and was shown inside the Tupras Stadium.
Villa will play in the Champions League next season.
