Interest has intensified following the Netherlands’ World Cup exit, with Manchester United keen and AS Roma out in front. Roma reportedly had a €46m (£39m) bid rejected, and the player is said to favour a move.

Summerville departed Leeds for West Ham in 2024 after 20 goals and nine assists, winning Championship Player of the Year. He then posted five goals and two assists in the Premier League last season for relegated West Ham.

Hull City, promoted via the play-offs, are eyeing a double swoop. Hull Live reports an agreement to sign former Newcastle full-back Matt Targett after his contract expired, while The Athletic says a move for Aston Villa winger Leon Bailey is being explored. Any Bailey addition could affect 15-goal loanee Joe Gelhardt’s role, with Leeds expected to cash in on the 24-year-old this summer.
