Serie A side Juventus have been pursuing a move for Aston Villa’s Emi Martinez for many weeks now.
Get Italian Football News have looked at how they have also held discussions with his agent and attempts are underway to reduce the Villans’ asking price.
La Gazzetta dello Sport have now reported that the deal is looking increasingly difficult. Juve consider Martinez their best option out there but Aston Villa’s demands haven’t reduced right now. They continue to demand €12 million and have now put up a wall in their stance for the Argentine’s exit.
Moreover, Juve feel the timeline for a move is being increased. Martinez is on a three-week break and he will return to Birmingham in the middle of August. The Old Lady are running out patience and want to sort out their keeper’s role as early as possible.
As a result, Juve are ready to explore a move for Tottenham’s Guglielmo Vicario, who is on his way out of the London club. The Bianconeri will attempt a loan move and it remains to be seen if Spurs open to that.
While Martinez is probably a better player, Vicario suits Juve’s accounts more. He will cost less and would also demand a lesser wage and he is also younger. Besides, he boasts Serie A experience from his time at Empoli.
