Athletic could earn €1.2 million if Spain reach the World Cup final, with €9,321 per day per player due for Unai Simón, Aymeric Laporte and Nico Williams. According to El Correo, payments begin this Saturday when La Roja report for camp.

The programme pays regardless of minutes and, for 2026 and 2030, also covers qualifying for the first time. Athletic released Simón, Laporte, Nico Williams, Vivián, Iñaki Williams and Maroan Sannadi in group fixtures, so extra sums apply.

If Spain go all the way, the trio would spend 51 days with the national team. A simple calculation tops €1.4 million, yet Athletic would receive a little over €1.2 million because payments are split between clubs represented in the previous two years. With Laporte at Al-Nassr last season, about €240,000 would go to the Saudi side.

The payout falls to around €900,000 if Spain exit in the quarter-finals and just over €1 million if they lose in the semi-finals. Qualifying call-ups could add roughly another €1 million, taking the overall sum beyond €2 million. Spain played six group qualifiers, Ghana 10 and Morocco eight.

Only Barcelona provide more players to Spain than Athletic, eight to three, the same as Atlético. Simón, Laporte and Nico Williams will miss most of pre-season under Edin Terzic.
