Athletic formalise Casamichana and Terzic's staff appointments, Orbaiz departs | OneFootball

Athletic have formalised a series of backroom appointments under Edin Terzic, naming David Casamichana head of performance and physical preparation.

According to AS, Casamichana arrives after eight seasons at Real Sociedad under Imanol Alguacil, plus spells with Portugalete and Gimnástica de Torrelavega.

Set-piece specialist Andrew Hughes also joins, having worked at this World Cup with Scotland, alongside strength coach Manu Crespo. Former Sestao River midfielder and Burgos B coach Álex Albistegi will act as translator.

The new faces were present at Monday’s fitness and conditioning tests at Lezama. Óscar de Marcos was on hand as liaison with the first team, while psychologist Iñigo Aguinaga and nutritionist Ander Altamira step up from Bilbao Athletic.

Aitor Iru continues with the goalkeepers and Iñigo San Millán remains at the club. Pablo Orbaiz leaves after considering an offer to take on different duties, and nutritionist Toscana Viar also departs the academy.
